The new market is located at the Northern exit of Kintampo just after Adomaa Memorial Hotel on the right hand side. Shared taxis run from the Total filling station to the market for 0,50 GHC. On every other day of the week you can do your groceries at the old market, which has less selection but is still a good option. It is located opposite of the Central Mosque just behind the VIP bus station.

The Kurubi festival is an event celebrated by the Wangara community to commemorate the descending of the first verse of the Holy Qur’an (96:1-5) to Prophet Muhammad on the 27th night of the Ramadan. The celebrations take the form of Qur’anic recitation and cultural display. Hundreds of community members, chiefs and sub-chiefs from all over the country come to Kintampo for the Kurbui festival for one week in November. Everybody, regardless of nationality or religion, is welcome to visit the festival!
As everywhere in Ghana a Independence Day Celebration is also taking place in Kintampo. All school children from town will march and it is worth to pop by. The festivities take place at the Rawlings Park located in the Mo Line neighbourhood opposite the Presbyterian Church
